When I visited home, my Mother said something she often says: I’d go back to my childhood in a minute. A comment followed by laments of how kids today just don’t have it as good as we used to. They don’t go outside. They’re on their phones all of the time. Even young adults sit at a table and everybody’s on their phone! Plus, the world is so dangerous today. You have to worry about your kids today; back when I was kid, you didn’t have to.

All of the seemingly obvious—call it intuitive—low-hanging fruit.

I’d like to call bull shit on this, particularly as it relates to living the semi-retired life.
