Nothing about moving to another country scared me.

At pretty much the moment my wife and I decided to do it—roughly four-and-a-half years ago—I was all-in. When we decided on Valencia—about three-and-a-half years ago—I doubled down emotionally and logistically.

As I noted over the weekend, what I wrote leading up to the move matches with how I’m feeling today, nearly a year-and-a-half into life in Spain.

Living in Europe is everything we thought it would be—and more. Particularly in the day-to-day from a quality-of-life standpoint.

That said, I’ve been having a recurring thought lately.

It’s not uncertainty or homesickness. It’s certainly not regret. It’s something strange—even a little scary.
