Driving in LA. I have done that. I learned to drive in London, which is a big place, but I agree totally with the article here; driving in LA is the most stressful thing I have ever done. GPS can’t react fast enough. We took a wrong turn going to JW marriott at Staples Centre. Ended up in a less than salubrious area.
The only place I enjoy driving is out on open freeway heading across Utah, Wyoming, or Nevada... I like to average over 100mph... having to drive from point A to point B, short distance, anything from three minutes to an hour for the simplest of pleasures drives me insane... pun intended.
I can't wait to live somewhere that walking and biking are encouraged - and as far as an electric car... don't get me started. In the US it is ridiculous to own one, unless I suppose, if you live in L.A.
Electric car works great for me in Portland, OR. It’s charged every night since we have a level 2 charger at home. Electrify America fast chargers make road trips practical too.
I don't think it would be so great here in Michigan, traveling from the Upper Peninsula to say Chicago, or say Chicago to Laramie, Wyoming... short distances and city driving I get. We are a big country. Those of us who are sojourners need vehicles that can run long distance... I hope to relocate into a place I won't need a car at all, and if I do, rentals will be an option. Nice to know it works for you, though.
Yeah, there are holes in the fast charging networks that should be filled in during the next 10 years.
It’s funny you mentioned U.P. to Chicago. We’re driving from Chicago to the Copper Country next month (near Mohawk, MI). Hoping we get a gas car for this trip since there aren’t enough chargers on our route.
I hope you enjoy your trip! (I'm fairly certain when I hit Northern Montana on a road trip heading your way, I'll need plenty of gas to jet around, also. :)

I'm glad I'm not alone in feeling like it is one of the most stressful things I do here, driving!
You'll get used to it. Soon, it will only suck, but it will be less intimidating!
I'm over it. Once I sell mine at the end of the year, I will never own a car again. That's the intention at least.
