One of my biggest fears about starting the process of applying to move to Spain next year?
That my work won’t fit the visa requirements.
It’s not so much about how much money you make as it is about how you make your money. In August, we tipped the iceberg on this discussion in a post about Spain’s digital nomad visa, which is what we plan to use. In a follow-up post to this one, we’ll get into specifics.
But, today, I focus more broadly on work, specifically how to deal with some loss of income as a freelancer or full-time employee.
My income on Medium recently crashed by 63%. In one month. And, given that I’m not writing there much anymore, it’s likely to fall even further.
To that end, all of my money-related articles now go to this newsletter. What I used to call a Medium article is now a newsletter post, always with a tie-in to semi-retirement.
Anyhow, without even thinking about it much, I have safeguards in place to offset (or better) a loss of income like what I’m experiencing with Medium. Maybe you can apply them to your situation now or in the future.
