You can call it pressure or motivation. We just went away for a few days while we had the condo painted. We took all of the art down off the walls, of course. And in the process of creating space had to touch almost everything we own. The 10 boxes of books was just too much. As I'm moving all of this STUFF, I'm also considering if I'm going to want it in Spain, either now or later. it's motivating me to move faster AND get rid of more more more....All of the whiteness in the space make me feel lighter and motivates me to do the tougher edits.
Yes, gamifying it all. Makes total sense. Like saying if I do this, I will need to do these things over the next week or month or year or whatever. Sort of like strategy in sports or a game.
The pressure seems to work when there is a purpose.
You chose the neighbourhood based on all the quality of life factors. Then you make it work.
The where matters so much. We are looking ahead to our time in South Africa. We want to live in particular development - Val de Vie - because of all the community aspects it offers and we want the house to be well set up for having guests and entertaining. Helping us connect with new folk and have visitors.

I'm always fascinated by these sorts of paradoxes. Pressure is freeing...Constraint fosters creativity, etc.
In my own case, it can feel like I'm gamifying them somewhat, if that makes sense?

I like my red wine chilled slightly and my beers (except IPAs) in the freezer for like 20-30 minutes before drinking them.
