One of the things we’ll do in the paid version of this newsletter is dig into the nuance around cost of living.

What is it, actually? And how can you most easily maintain a low cost of living so you can organize your work and money around your life, not the other way around?

A low cost of living is more than a small number of expenses—in quantity and total dollar figure. It’s certainly not about being cheap or frugal. I’m neither.

In fact, you aim for a relatively low cost of living so you can spend.

As we dig deeper into this, I’ll pull numbers from my own real-life budget to illustrate what I mean, with a focus on how to smartly and strategically allocate your cash flow.

In the present installment, we consider kids. My kid, in particular.
