This newsletter is for those of us who will Never Retire.

On the surface, Never Retiring sounds like a negative thing, particularly if you have no choice in the matter.

So, let’s say you have no choice in the matter. Are you going to externalize the problem and wait for politicians to cure the macro(and micro)economic ills of society? Are you going to leave your destiny up to the universe, manifesting what you’d like to have in life?

Even if you have a choice, do you want to spend the second half of your life (or a little more or little less) unchallenged, disengaged and going through the motions?

No, no and no.

To some degree, these questions pertain to each and every one of us. This commonality puts us all under the Never Retire umbrella. A broad grouping of people looking to get the most from their money—and out of life—now and for the duration.

What connects us isn’t merely working into retirement. Because some of you will not or are not. It’s a desire to find our own ways to remain vital and vibrant in relative old age.

Your way might include a move. Maybe not.

However, it probably includes something that challenges the broad status quo as well as your own. Something that fucks with the familiarity you have accumulated that helps create the comfort zone that encapsulates your life.

For me, it’s—in part—our forthcoming move to Spain. A move that feels more real today than it ever has. Because, on Monday, we had a phone call with the person who will assist us throughout the process and apply for the visa on our behalf.

Today, I relay how that call went and discuss the relationship between shaking up your status quo and remaining challenged and engaged through midlife and beyond.
