As much as I was unhappy with the Democrats and am sick-to-my-stomach disgusted and embarrassed by what’s happening in the United States right now, politics didn’t drive my decision to move to Spain.
Neither did the urban environment that I talk about and love living in so much.
Of course, both elements help shape your experience and directly dictate the decision-making process from day-to-day and on-the-ground perspectives. But there’s something bigger—two interrelated things really—that drove this big decision at a higher, more conceptual level, I guess.
They’re real, raw and personal. You can probably relate and apply them to whatever you decide to do—or are doing—as you move forward in life.
Interestingly, I feel the most resolve, strength and certainty in my decision to move abroad right when things feel a little stressful or otherwise difficult in Spain. And it’s because of the larger reason why I wanted to do this.
Right to that in a second, but first—
Thanks to our most recent founding member from Canada.
To Canada, a place I love and have spent a ton of time in: I’m sorry that more than half of America elected dangerous nitwits who would treat you and the rest of the world, not to mention its own population, with such disrespect and disregard. Stay with the sane, aware and caring ones—close to the majority of America and most of the rest of the world—on the right side of history.
We have a diverse subscriber base. From all over the world. All different types of people, doing all different types of things. I love it.
Join us. And support my livelihood—writing isn’t my side hustle!—with a paid subscription. A founding membership lets you contribute at any level you’d like—$100 or higher—and I will make you into a comped, lifetime subscriber. Pay Now. Never Pay Again.
I don’t like talking about this. But it’s what I feel and what helps drive what I am doing in life at any given time, including right now.
