Keeping your brain working and keeping active are both important.

My view of semiretirement, at 61, is:

There are good reasons for my wife to just stop - health, though nothing serious, had enough of the the big place and her acquired / current skills don’t easily fit into a semi-retired life.

Me, I have some small projects and a job as a non exec director of a financial services firm. All four things are interesting. I‘ll work if there is work that is interesting but with no end goal in mind. Happy to help others.

I actually like your bike videos. They're interesting. Ive never ridden in big cities, except Miami and had no issues with fearing people not paying attention. I started doing a little trail biking but it isn't as fun. With any luck I'll move to a city that encourages bike riding. It would be so much more economical and healthy to ride a bike instead of getting in the car to run errands and hit the grocery. On the subject of biking I discovered spinning bike recently and love them!! The workout is so much better than anything I can do (at the moment) to get my heart rate up where I need it!

I used to be addicted to Spinning like I am hot yoga now. But I discovered it was a bit too hard on my body. Biking outside, walking and yoga seems to work better for me now.

I appreciate that you like the videos. I guess I compare myself too much to the really good people I like on YouTube. I am literally just doing what I have always done, but with a camera on. If my weirdness works to some extent that will be amazing!!

In the hot and humid (and soon to be hotter) weather we're having, biking is the best way to get around. Natural AC!

It's not your weirdness. It's your signature. Be unique. (And you certainly have no problem with that!)

Enjoy the process. Live in the moment......great thoughts. I'm sometimes asked what my goals in life are? I only have one - to enjoy my life. Everything flows from there, trying not to over think it, and set my expectations accordingly 👌🏽

Agreed on all counts. We were at Lake Michigan this week, and just sitting in the sun, people watching and staring out at the water for hours did more for my than any seminar, masterclass, or flow state could've. It was relaxing, but rejuvenating too.

P.S. If you're on road trip and Born to Run doesn't play, did you really even leave the driveway?

I agree. We have a bench in front of our apartment I can sit on for hours. At some point we want to get back to camping like we did in California. Sitting in that type of silence, especially by water, it's the best.

Born to Run, lots of by Petty Songs, and almost anything by Social Distortion!!
