Never Retire: I Have to Work. So I Work Less, Earn More, and Actually Have a Life.

Never Retire didn’t start as a choice. But reshaping my work life—on my terms—turned out to be the best move I’ve ever made.

I still work. I have to.

For most of us, Never Retire is born out of necessity. But—soon—it becomes the obvious choice. And you wonder why you didn’t live and work this way all along.

I’ve changed what that work looks like—and what it costs me.

I didn’t move to Spain to stop working. I moved here because the life I wanted was finally within reach. But to maintain it, I still need to earn.

So instead of trying to “retire early,” I focused on one thing: Making work small enough that it fits into the life I want to live.

This isn’t some digital nomad fantasy. It’s the result of stripping down what I actually need to make, what I actually like doing, and what I’ll never do again.

In today’s Never Retire newsletter story, I break down each of those last three components.

This didn’t happen overnight. But it started with a question:

What if I could work less and still be fine?

That question changed everything.
