We’re spending December flashing back to our 2023 and 2024 European trips.

Now, inside a month until we move, we’re nervous, alongside anxious anticipation and excitement, but ready to feel all the feelings once and for all. So we can take the emotions—and not necessarily leave them behind—but use them as catalysts to hit the ground running in Spain.

By far, this is the most exciting thing I have ever done in my life. Now that it’s almost here, I can’t imagine not doing it.

And I am doing it with the perfect person.

Melisse (my wife) has helped keep me calm, keep things in perspective and grow as a human during our almost four years together. Taken together, she has helped me be a better thinker and planner as we keep the move’s moving parts together and rolling.

Speaking of big and exciting, Melisse will maintain part ownership in the salon she owns in Los Angeles when we move. However, she will shift focus to her work as an artist. Melisse has been a mixed media painter for many years now and recently started studying ceramics.

This is her FIRST attempt EVER at creating a clay bust.

I think I remain objective when I say that people work at this type of thing for years and never produce work nearly as good.

In any event, Melisse recently soft launched her online store that—for now—features a few original paintings. As we hit the ground running in Spain, expect her store to expand in the coming months and years. She is going to do cool things as an artist, many of which I don’t think we have even imagined in all of our discussions and daydreams about the future.

Check out a selection of Melisse’s original artwork for sale at her website and in her Etsy storefront.

Plus, she only travels with a backpack and is the best travel partner. We’re looking forward to being a hop, skip and a jump from so many great European destinations.
