Something I plan to write about in the coming weeks is what I might call the familiarity curve. But—let’s face it—we’re new immigrants to Spain. So, it’s best to enjoy these moments, eventually balancing moment enjoyment with my need to anticipate how things might play out because that’s just what I do as a human and—basically—for a living.
That said—I am already thinking about and devising a new routine that will enable me to get work done and enjoy life seamlessly. So, more on that soon. It’s a key element of settling in, I think, and one I want to discuss at length in the newsletter.
Thanks to the new subscribers who came through after yesterday’s post about day one on life in Spain. We’ll submit the application for our residence permit on Tuesday. I’ll keep you posted with the entire administrative blow-by-by. I’m not going to refer to these tasks as “bureaucratic” anymore. The connotation is too negative.
As I noted in Saturday’s installment—as with not constantly comparing Spain to the US—I want to keep it positive.
Anyhow—
I think this little guy is signing up for a founding membership. So you probably should as well. It’s the best value, given that I convert all founding memberships into lifetime subscriptions. I plan to spend the rest of my nine lives—roughly 50 years—writing this thing from the streets, terraces and living spaces of Spain!
