We have done so much, yet we’re not even halfway through our 20 posts for the month of February:
This is post #8 of 20 for the month of February, which is coming to you from Madrid, Spain, before we get on a Ryanair flight to Rome, Italy Wednesday.
In a minute, we’ll update what we’ve spent on food and drink over the weekend in Madrid—along with more photography from Spain.
Here’s a preview from what might have been our best meal yet in Spain—
But first, let’s introduce today’s Never Retire checklist item—organize money and work around life, not the other way around.
I can’t wait to give these ideas, themes and strategies full treatments in March, when I write 20 posts in 31 days, meticulously detailing each of the 20 checklist items.
Our last two Never Retire checklist items—#6, work less now so you can work less longer and #7, living evenly across the lifespan are the more practical or concrete setups for living a life that isn’t dictated by money or your job.
You often hear people say they work to live, rather than live to work. That’s great, but this is better. When you organize money and work around life, you live to live. Work and money help facilitate life. To some extent they dictate its terms—that’s unavoidable—but in a healthier, easy-to-manage way.
Post #8 in March details exactly what I mean by all of this and pulls together how to make it happen from checklist items #6 and #7.
