My girlfriend and I spent the last few days camping at William Heise County Park in Julian, California, a small town just north of San Diego.

In addition to camping, we spent time exploring Julian’s Main Street. You can catch a glimpse of us in action in this Instagram Reel. Give it a look, then, if you’re so inclined, follow my account.

Julian is known for pie and cider. We had a little bit of both.

As we continue reviewing the quantitative and qualitative results from our subscriber housing survey, here are links to who and what we’ve covered so far before hearing about another subscriber’s interesting, if not unique plans for the future.

  • Two subscribers impressively on track for traditional retirement.

  • A construction worker who wants to move to Ireland who told us about not only her, but her kids’ very different housing situation.

  • A resident of Key West, Florida, who riffs on the uniqueness of that place alongside thoughts on the $3,000/month her and her boyfriend pay for housing.

  • A rundown of the quantitative results, which gives us a nice, though not necessarily representative survey of the housing landscape for our community.

  • Then, there’s the story of how my partner and I are somewhere between screwed and all set, but closer to all set on housing.

There’s a lot there, making it an excellent time to become a paid subscriber (if you haven’t already).

These are your options—

  • $5/month

  • $50/year

  • Pay $100 or more to join as a founding member and I immediately convert you to a lifetime subscription, meaning you pay once and never pay again. I plan on doing this newsletter for the rest of my life (I turn 48 on July 18th) so this option is the best deal.

Your support helps me devote a majority of my time and attention to growing and evolving the newsletter. Plus, I appreciate it.

Now today’s subscriber housing story.
