It’s such a weird thing to be approaching 50!

Even though I have the ambitious, but, I think, realistic goal of hitting 100, the Vegas odds say I have fewer days ahead of me than behind me.

I’ll turn 49 in July—in Los Angeles.

I’ll turn 50 in 2025—in Spain.

In a series of posts set to start after this one, I’ll chronicle some of our biggest concerns and worries around the move to Spain. A lot of it has to do with perspective and not letting the normal trappings of day-to-day life create unnecessary drama in your head and on the ground.

The reality is we live in a society—a world—of drama kings, queens and everything in between. You can wallow in the drama, which seems to attract more of it. Or you can let it go in one ear—permitting it to stop a second for processing—and out the other.

I had to do this last week in a couple of situations, both of which are related to getting older.
