This comment came on an old Medium article the other day. And I can’t help but address it. Because, in light of the nation’s housing crisis, nuance around this type of talk becomes extra important.

As we discussed the other day, it might never be a good time to buy a house in America again. However, this doesn’t mean you shouldn’t buy one. It just might not be in or around a large or even medium size city. For many of us, it might not be in America.

Because conditions have changed so dramatically over the last few years that the relatively comfortable homeowners who came before you (if you’re a renter) no longer work as models.

Which makes math like this—in the near-term—another relic of the American dream.

Way too simplistic.
